Well I still have the DTG Kiosk Paper weight, unsuccessful in selling it on and as you read in my earlier blogs about the way YES LTD scammed me into it I was unable to return despite their promise.
All in all I’ve had some 15 to 20 people who’ve contact me with similar complaints about YES LTD, some had agreed to have their story published but then backed out, others didn’t wish to because of their continuing working relationship with YES LTD.
I have to note though that I’ve seen little if any complaints about the American counterparts who distribute these machines and I wounder why. Some suggested different climates cause didn’t issues for machines which I can appreciate and then another suggestion was made that perhaps it was relating to the actual training given. I’ve had two offers from people whom believe they can offer sound advice to make this machine work as expected, one has offered to give me some kind of tuition over the phone to get me on the right track.
Because of these offers I’ve decided that perhaps the machine should be given another go, so I’ve started to source a new print head because no doubt this one will be no good now, although I will test it first, I’m also trying to find a source for dampers and await some feed back from a company. I’ve also found a new supplier of DTG inks within the UK which seems very promising indeed.
I’ve received a fair bit of advice who a chap in the UK who runs what seems a fairly successful company with this machine although he’s had many, many issues and blatently also thinks very little of YES LTD. I believe he also still screen or silk prints for larger orders (this is his heritage into the fabric printing world).
No doubt it will take a while for me to find all the funds required for this, so I’m not sure at what point this year it will happen, but when it does I guess I’ll be going back into business. I’m a little more optimistic this time based on the advice I’ve received and this whole recession thing isn’t of major concern to me.
On a side note, a few weeks ago my domain registrars forwarded me a mail, it seems YES LTD were trying to find out the webmaster of this site, but my registrar refused to divulge my details and just passed it to me. I replied to YES LTD politely reminding them who I was and asked how I could help them. So far, no reply!
And finally to add, it seems only moments after YES LTD supplied us with the DTG Kiosk, they launched a new version called the DTG Kiosk HM1 (HM-1) , maybe they were just eager to throw the older model out of the door at as quicker pace a they could so then they could entice the companies back with a newer version within months. (They still stock the DTG Kiosk as well).

Hi Helen,
I was just about to buy one of these machines Kiosk HM1, I spoke to the guy from YES ltd at a trade show, and he assured me that they have had no problems, they have developed a new system called WIMS which would stop the white ink from blocking.
I was wondering are the problems you have been having to do with the white ink blocking, or something else?
The unit this machine is very cold, and I am concerned this will also have an effect on the white ink.
Glad I saw your posting!!!
Thanks
David
Hi David.
The Kiosk HM1 apparently came out shortly after we got the Kiosk. Strangely enough though YES neglected to inform us of the forth coming release thus selling us a old model.
One of the guys who I’ve been in communication with has the HM1, he runs many prints and constantly has issues.
I’m familiar with the WIMS although I’m not sure if he has it on his machine though without asking. Do you know if this new add-on packages as default?
All the WIMS basically is, is a a vibrating tool, it just keeps shaking the ink, not sure how much it would cost to keep running though.
I’m currently looking at using another company for inks, I believe they also do a machine and although I’ve not tested it, you might want to look into it.
The company is Nanojet Teebrite / kisscut:- http://www.nanojetink.com
There inks are fairly priced and it’s something we will be following up later on the year.
If you have time to learn then it might be best looking into screen printing, at least this way you will be able to make quality.
I still wouldn’t ever recommend YES LTD, there are now more machines coming out on the market, test them and look for peoples feed back on those machines to see how they work and most importantly look at what people think to the support offered and if you find the owner of the company is abusive, rude and ignorant like the one whom runs YES LTD, then stay clear. You might also want to attend one of the ‘Printware And Promotion’ shows:

Please feel free to keep in touch, I’d love to hear what you decide to do and how it all goes.
