Drinking and Drugs should be banned on the XFactor

Before I comment on the title of this blog can I just say Dannii Minogu, wow. You know my last real interest in modern pop music would of actually been her sister (I love Dannii too of course) up to the Greatest Hits Album released in 1992, after that I kind of lost touch with pop crap.

I was brought up on music from such artists as Neil Sedaka, Neil Diamond, Boney-M, my interest then progressed into Queen ironically though I couldn’t stand them until 1992, the year after Freddie Mercury passed away, now they are my all time favourite band, I was just kicking myself I didn’t enjoy their music when Freddie was alive as attending one of their gigs would of been fantastic, I guess it’s true you really don’t know a good thing till it’s gone, and now or should I say shortly after he passed I realised the true power of Queens music but please I prey to god stop these boy/girl band karaoke singers that we’ve seen in recent years doing covers, you really can’t improve perfection, you can only ruin it and they really manage that in their only backwards special way, plus if your going to rip off songs then at least making your own and make it unique just don’t try and be something your not. (A side note: To the best of my knowledge I have the full discography of Queen)

I suppose I should state there are some exceptions to the rule of my pop dislikes and that would include Robbie Williams, I have no idea why I just find myself listening to his music often.

Another blog another side track huh, I really don’t know why I go off on a tangent, it just happens, then I look back think gosh what the hell was I drinking, lol.

Ok so here’s the bitch of the day, alcohol and drugs should be banned on XFactor, I was cooking and in the background the TV was on and I heard some atrocious Karaoke singers killing some great songs, when I looked at the TV I was expecting to see someone swinging cats above their heads, anyway what topped it off is when the judges were praising them, come on really don’t get their hopes up be honest with them, or if you believe you are being honest stop drinking and smoking weed before the show, also the audience please stop clapping for them, it encourages em.

I occasionally enjoy the show along with the American Idol, because Simon Cowell cracks me up with his comments, I remember one form American idol when this big lass comes on to audition and he mutters something like “We’re going to need a bigger stage this year”, that’s priceless and before anyone bitches about the fat joke, please just step back and get over it, get a grip, as I type this I ain’t exactly a skinny guy myself.

If we’re to continue with this type of reality TV stuff, then why not do something like the Original-Factor where bands and individuals write their own music and lyrics along with playing it themselves, then you would give them a real reason to call themselves a band, you’d give real inspiration to people and promote creativity, as opposed to lazy bums whom struggle to sing covers and would probably just win a karaoke competition.

So the moral of the story kids don’t drink alcohol or take drugs as it makes crap TV.

Here’s the call for originality, if we all followed suit and never thought out of the box our civilisation would just crumble and never progress.

Aaron – U-Turn (lili)

I was browsing the web minding my own business when I stumbled upon this dark black French website, they had this media player there so I pressed play being inquisitive, you know as you do and this tune started to play, now forgive my ignorance if this has or is currently featuring in the charts as I usually avoid all forms of modern pop-shite, but I couldn’t get this tune outta my head, I kept returning over and over again to have another listen.

It was driving me nucking kuts, so I thought I’d add it here and let everyone have a listen, this guy may of been around a while, and this song maybe a remake, I really don’t know I just find myself drawn to it.

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

I don’t know what it is, don’t think it’s the lyrics, perhaps it’s the voice mixed with the melody.

I’m into various kinds of music, I was brought up on Neil Diamond, Neil Sadarka, Boney-M, my father was also a huge fan of Diana Ross.  As a side note if any has a copy of the Boney-M song covered by Turisas the song is called Rasputin, I just think they did a rather cool cover (Metal unlike the original), I’m also a big fan of Queen especially Brian May, you know that’s damn right rude of me I can’t single out one of them for being the better, they were all bloody fantastic, end of but please no more boy band covers it hurts my ears sometimes.

Did I just say boy bands, hmmm that’s a huge over statement, sorry let me retract that statement and start a fresh, here we go……

Please no more karaoke singer covers.
