I received an invoice on the 8th Jan 2010 for two domain names which they are not even the registrar of and so I questioned it:

I don’t understand? These domain names are registered with another provider?

Are you saying you charged me for these? or your going to?

I sent this to their billing and support departments to which their billing department never even bothered to respond however I did get one from their general support:

Anyway knowing them they would try to charge me again so I log into paypal and changed the setting to deny they access to take funds for invoices, I then left it there and didn’t say anything else however today I received another e-mail:

I suppose in that paragraph I was talking metaphorically by indirectly implying that MP’s and our government are the cancer of Briton eating away at our every day lives…………………………

This week we have been given another blow to our family, in 2005 I lost my father to cancer, a year later his brother, my uncle and this weekend we learnt the shocking news that my Aunty Margaret has terminal cancer of the stomach. Currently my mother, her sister is on vacation in Spain and as a family we elected not to ruin her holiday by telling her, but this is killing me in side every time she calls I just want to tell her, even as an adult I just want to hug her and have her tell me everything will be OK, I realise this is the selfish child in me wanting to know there are no wrongs in this world when in fact that’s far from the truth. I still miss those cuddles with my father, he remained strong through out the battle against cancer, he was my rock and my inspiration and in life I aspire to be more like him although by my own admission I always fall short.

Cancer is horrible it slowly eats away at you, my father had lung cancer which slowly deprived him of oxygen, he went from being a big strong man into bone, he lost so much weight and now I can see this again in my Aunt and it’s heartbreaking. When people ask why I no longer have faith in any religion then this is my answer, how can I have faith something which is killing the people I love when we do nothing wrong.

Now back onto the government part and for a reason, my father was miss diagnosed, he had a reacurring chest infections which his GP just kept suppressing with antibiotics and never sent him for a scan, it took a bout of pneumonia to get the scans needed to find the two tumours in his left and right lung. Later he was given a prescription from a GP which he went and handed into his usual pharmacist, the pharmacist realised instantly that if he had taken this medication it would have reacted with his other medication and killed him instantly. Now if he had not used the usual pharmacist then the pharmacist would not have known my fathers normal medication and would have happily given it him.

Now for the last few months they’ve been treating my Aunt for gallstones when it turns out it was actually cancer, she had complained to GP for a while before that about stomach issues (pains, cramps, etc) but again nothing was ever done and now because of the misdiagnosis and inactions of some over paid idiots my Aunt and our family have to suffer yet again!

In this day and age when the NHS says “We need more funds, we simply don’t have enough money to function correctly” and the government says “We need more funds, we’re not stealing enough money”, it makes you wonder at what price we, the public have to pay to get a competent level of service for what we pay for, huh even the bin men can’t do their jobs properly (we had a rat jump out of our bin the other day)…….

Either way you look at this, the government, the local GP’s and the NHS are killing our family………………………..

I was going to end on that comment, but felt it wrong because not all the NHS is failing, I have had good experiences albeit not that many.

The government are like the Sheriffs of Nottingham, rob from the poor to pay the rich. Could one of the other parties like UKIP be our Robin Hood, or are they all filthy, robbing, scum?

I’ve had an ongoing issue with your poor technical and customer service including your billing methods and how you have illegal took money from our accounts without having permission after explicitly being told not to do so. This has damaged my family financially and left us with further bank charges to pay. I’ve tried to tackle this in a polite manner and got no adequate response, I’ve tackled this in a more aggressive manner due to you enraging me with your petty games and still no adequate response.

I have been in the process of transferring all my products away from you and to a reputable host who is capable of performing the simplest tasks which you seem incapable of doing. it’s a great shame, I’ve been a loyal customer of yours since around 2003 and the way you have treated me is disgusting.

Take this as my notice, you are to cease (that means stop) with any billing and renewal of any items. They will either be transferred away, renewed with another provider or left to expire. Its really sad, there a bunch of idiots who really don’t read or listen to what you say. As a company they have really let me down and I know I’m not the only one, across the net they get stinking reviews because of it.

Their poor customer service and technical knowhow, we had managed servers which didn’t give us root access, everything had to go through them, knightmare is an understatement.

They billed us for things we didn’t have, when we called for tech support we ended up giving them tech support to change simple things on our server for example one domain name had wild card (allows *.domain.com aka anything.domain.com to work, allowing a script to handle the url an example of this would be for use in WPMU) but others didn’t well it took an hour of explaining before they said they couldn’t do it because the servers were managed which we all know is absolute rubbish.

In January of 2009 they illegally took a direct debit which we explicitly kept telling them not to, as a result we incurred a charge from our bank because it was processed days before we had funds available. Their response is they can’t do anything because it’s automated, well in the UK it is illegal to take a Direct Debit when they are not given permission and instructed to cancel it. Our bank won’t give us the charge back so we are contemplating legal action against them for theft. So we moved them to Paypal for billing and told our bank to never allow them the opportunity to take payment again.

Anyway we moved our servers away and we started moving our domain names well now they keep trying to bill us for domains that are not under them as a registrar. We knew they would try for payment and so revoked their access to do so with Paypal also. This is what they sent us:

I really hate how much time this wastes for me, if it’s not one company it’s another. Currently we’re also taking legal action again Concept Solutions because of a incompetent job done on our garage, I really don’t want to go through this with One And One but it seems they may leave me little choice…………….

Here are just a few radical ideas for our Government to save money and avert the current situation we’re heading for:

The current annual salary for an MP is £61,820. In addition, MPs receive allowances to cover the costs of running an office and employing staff, having somewhere to live in London and in their constituency, and travelling between Parliament and their constituency.

Ok so lets start making some cuts to help dodge the recession or at least ease the pressure on the public and lets cut some of those additional allowances, lets also have those MP’s give back, take a pay cut to £40k or £30k that’s more than enough to live on whilst the public are suffering to make ends meet on crappy £9k jobs, well if they have a job.

MP’d didn’t help with their recent second homes and extra cash for all the interior and such so give those second homes back to the public, cut the dead meat away and you don’t need big cars.

According to a document also downloaded from this website, Mr Brown earns some  £189k per year with others like the Speaker earning £138,724. Most of these Salaries could be cut by up to 75% saving the tax payer some money, easing our living costs, fuel costs and so on. Surely the Prime minister could live on £70k a year?

These don’t have to be permanent changes but should take affect to help our economy save money until we’re in the clear again.

Companies announcing high profit margins like British Gas, First (Bus) and others should either be forced to lower their prices to help the public or should be penalised for imposing high prices on us when they don’t have to, this money would then go back to the economy.  The Price of oil has recently dropped a hell of an amount but the reduction we pay for petrol doesn’t reflect this change, the price for us shot up, it should shoot down also.

Stop unessential road maintenance, There is a perfectly fine road near us that seems to be dug up every year, why? It would be cheaper for someone to asses if a road really does need doing once a year or not, don’t just blow money on it because you can.

Remember you work for us, it shouldn’t be the other way round! So we shouldn’t suffer for your lifestyle.

I’m all for charity, that’s something that starts at home. So stop throwing all that money and aid to other countries first, let the public decide if they want to donate don’t just use the funds because look at what all that money could of done right now. I’m not saying stop all together but just to be more conservative and Remember we also have poor, homeless, and dying people who can’t afford to live.

I’m not being heartless here, but if we can’t look after our own and then our country falls to pieces who will give these other poorer countries the money and aid? No one because we won’t be able to.

Red Nose and other fantastic charities allow the public to choose if they want to donate, let them carry on the good work.

Take the easy FREE ride away from illegal immigrants, either send them home or make them work to live here rather than handing it to them on a plate. And if there are immigrants in this country that want to work then let them, I have two friends that live here and they are not allowed to be employed they have to be self employed which is something to do with the visa or what ever it’s called that allows them to live in this country, because of this it can sometimes be hard for them to find work unless the employer is happy to pay them as a self employed person.

Prisons is another big waste, stop giving inmates such as easy ride. If they want a TV, a Playstation, or any other perks then make them work for it, don’t give them a free ride, free food, free accommodation.

An idea would be for the prison service to be like a business, make the inmates work, perhaps make blankets for the old and poor, grow and farm food which could be sold to Tesco’s, ASDA’s or even better, smaller businesses at a price which would let them compete with the bigger chains and still make a healthy profit because remember no work force to pay, the inmates are working for their wrongs and to get perks in addition to paying for the accommodation and staff needed to guard them.

For a days work the inmate could earn some privileges temporary or permanent. Inmates could do this in secure environments with money generated from selling products used to fund the prison system and help the public.

Shortlist:

PM Salary Cut.

MP Salary Cut.

Force energy companies with high profit to reduce costs and compensate the public or penalise them for unreasonable pricing.

Force other essential companies such as transport companies to reduce their costs for the public (based on high net profits and thus not penalising the small business and sole traders).

Stop thieving from the public with excessive speed camera’s, use speed camera’s to make a difference not to charge a fortune, i.e. put them where they are needed to reduce speed and accidents not just to make a quick buck. Take action on repeat offenders obviously if a fine isn’t a deterrent then do something that is, to protect life.

Stop thieving from the public with traffic wardens, reduce the cost of tickets, often these penalties hit the families and not the rich.

Reduce the amount of public money spent on foreign aid efforts, temporarily at least.

Either send illegal immigrants home or make them work to live here, thus giving back to the UK and not just taking.

Make prison inmates work for their privileges, they could produce products to help small businesses make profit, or help the poor and elderly live.

Summary:

The money saved on these few things alone may not steer our Country away from recession completely but it would most certainly ease the pressure and those monies could be used for the people and families that really need it.

Some of these could easily be done straight away and only have to be temporary whist we ensure our country stays on it’s feet.

Others could be more permanent and would maybe take a little more time to provision but still there are ways to make money and save money in addition to making costly services pay for there own.

There are no easy over night fixes and I realise this, but we need to look at trimming the fat and building the muscle that makes our nation, the UK, what it is.

A conclusive list of ideas and ways to trim the fat whilst saving money it isn’t, but a starting point it is!

Another Note:

Now that the public own shares in some major banks I’m hoping to see them starting to work for us and not just for themselves, they do of course have to stay profitable but they could still reduce the cost of such things like being overdrawn for a day, stop charging £20 to £40 for a letter when you do go over drawn, by charging those that don’t have the money your simple throwing them further into debt and poverty, this doesn’t help anyone, and you may loose a customer or even worse kill a customer.

Consider allowing a customer a grace period of maybe ten days, send them a £2 letter informing them they have X days to fix the balance and then they will be charged further, but give them the option to speak with a human because a few days may not be enough for someone who is getting close to financial ruin.

In the past I’ve had problems where I was expecting payment which arrived a moment or two late and a Direct Debit going out which sent me into Zero’s with a £30 charge for a matter of hours.

I know something was going through High Courts about this recently, I’ll be honest in saying I haven’t followed it much but I believe a High Court ruled that Office of Fair Trading (OFT) could decide on if the fee’s charged are fair or not. If something has changed on how they can charge then something positive is happening but if not then it’s now time for the Banks to do something because it’s right and helps people.

Well this was only going to be a short blog which turned out to be a little long so I’ll stop here for now, but will say there are other things the government and we could all be looking at to keep the country afloat

I finally got a response from the DVLA telling me they were sorry for the inconvenience and would drop the case against me, freeing me from the penalty and to right too. I will also get some form of compensation not as much as the stress has caused, but perhaps enough to cover some of those basic expenses. There sending me a grand total of……………… **Drum roll**……………………… Are you sitting down?

£10, yup they are sending me £10 to compensate me.

I’m just happy there is some justice in this world.

If I get a chance then I’ll post there letter up here at some point (but I’m rather busy at the moment).

The DVLA had informed me this would stop long before now, so in their slowness to act my family and I have continued to be harassed by text messages to a land line phone which gives out my personal details and circumstances without care for the data protection act.

Philips I write this E-mail because only a few minutes ago I received another text message to the land line telephone telling me my case is being passed for further action or my balance is still outstanding.

Yet more incompetence, and then to ask me to fill in another complaints form I care not for your procedures in hoping the public are to lazy to fill in a form and then no further action can be taken.I care only for the time lost and the cost incurred by myself in other words you have my complaint in writing I see no reason why I should waste more of my life on this matter except to receive justice.

I’m not sure of whom I dealt with on the phone, it could of even been you for all I know and care, my suggestion though is you send your staff on a customer relations course and train them that mistakes happen and therefore shouldn’t make accusations that a person is a criminal regardless of whether it was done direct or indirect.

Whilst typing this mail I have another message on my phone, that’s two but the first one I put the phone down on, perhaps that’s the message system redelivering.

And I won’t contact your office on the phone to discuss anything, last time we know what happened and look now I’m still being harassed.

I certainly won’t contact them on the phone, the last time I tried to get help from a human in their company they basically accused me of being a criminal and a lier.

Can’t deal with automate systems and can’t deal with real people, this world is screwed.

I tried calling but again a message came on telling my about how they are busy and that I could renew my tax on-line and then it put the phone down on me, so I couldn’t deal with a real person, I couldn’t wait on the line for one either. AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I sent an E-mail to them.

Now I’m starting to get annoyed with your incompetence, your a useless bunch of people. This E-mail is being sent to both the DVLA and Philips Unprofessionally Collection Services. (note the e-mails this is being sent too)

You (DVLA) informed me that you would stop Philips Collection Services from breaking the data protection act on my telephone, by leaving messages for my family and friends to hear. You told me this would stop and you would look into the situation of you misplacing my details about my car being written off by my insurance company in 2006, but they are still hounding. Can’t you people and your own departments communicate, or do you lack some form of intelligence?

I will seek legal action for your incompetence in this matter unless a prompt resolution is found along with substantial compensation for the increasing time and money I loose along with the immense stress you are placing me and my family under, breaking the data protection act is illegal, and you have no grounds to base any legal action against me I did my duty as required, you failed yours!!

DVLA & Philips Collections Services LTD Are Taking Me For A Ride

I received a letter from the DVLA informing me they were looking into the matter and would put a hold on the work by Philips Collection Services, well it seems they apparently can’t even control that. Philips Collection Services Left another few messages on my answering machine telling me they are taking further legal action, they again state my name, my penalty. This answering machine is accessible by my friends and family along with people who visit my house, because when you press play it plays out aloud.

If I were in shared accommodation then other people would know my business so the fact is that Philips Collection Services and the DVLA are now illegally breaking the Data Protection Act by making available personally identifiable information without my consent, in a way that others have access to it.

What a waste of tax payers money!!!

Well I called them to complain again only this time I was told my complaint and the original one (see link above) would only deal with the certain issues and if I intended not to pay the fine/penalty then I’d also need to write to another department within the DVLA which is ridiculous how can they not communicate together and sort the mess out they cause. Was it not obvious I’m not going to pay a penalty for something I don’t owe, my car was written off I informed them of such hence my work is done.

This letter is in addition to my complaint filed on the 12th May 2008.

I’m now being forced to waste yet more of my time on this matter, because apparently your departments cannot coordinate nor communicate with each other directly, This is ridiculous.

You will see in the complaint which is attached with this letter the issues which require addressing.

I have no intention of paying this £80 fine as I’m sure you understand it’s not my debt to pay. I also understand you may deal with tax evasion on a daily basis however even if you claim that you didn’t receive correspondence from me then you will be able to see that this vehicle was written off by my insurance company shortly after the SORN application.

Now there is another issue and one which I’m contemplating legal action on. The company Philips Collection Services, that you viciously set upon me have broken the Data Protection Act by leaving messages on an answering machine. This answering machine is available by my whole house hold, when leaving a message or playing back it’s done out aloud, my friends and family are now aware of this current situation. If I had been in share accommodation other people would know my full name, the debt you claim I owe and that your apparently taking further action. This message left personally identifiable information about me.

You informed me in writing and over the phone that you would stop further action and pestering from Philips Collection Services until you had investigated this matter, well they haven’t stopped they are now sending messages to my phone informing my friends and family of further action that your apparently taking.

I now expect suitable compensation far greater than I originally requested in my other letter, I also require a formal apology.

To notify you, I’m also documenting these incidents on-line along with all letters I send you.

Philips Collection Services did send me a complaints form to fill in along with a letter informing me I should provide proof that I informed the DVLA that the vehicle was off the road, well sorry to say but I’m not wasting my time filling in this crap I’ll deal with the organ grinder and not the monkey. I should ask them for proof I didn’t, bloody pratts.
